Dean Anthon grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania where his family based its management and operations of hotels and restaurants. As one of three children, Dean pitched in wherever needed at the family’s hotel: working the front desk, helping with back-of-house computations, even lifeguarding during the summer months.
Inspired by his parents’ entrepreneurialism, Dean went to the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania where he studied finance. His pursuit of further education brought Dean to Florida, where he earned a law degree at the University of Miami.
After earning his law degree, Dean decided to pursue a career in business instead of the court room. For 25 years, Dean worked in private equity and venture capital, mostly in emerging markets across Latin America. He primarily lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he met his wife, Maria.
Dean and Maria married and had a daughter. Shortly after their daughter’s birth, Dean and Maria decided it was time to move back to the US and continue raising their family in Florida.
The Anthon family settled in Juno Beach and quickly fell in love. From its history in the hotel/motel industry to its small-town charm, Dean Anthon recognizes what makes Juno Beach special.
“In a region that’s been enveloped by Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach is a distinct refuge where you can’t go anywhere without running into somebody you know,” Dean said. “I’m running for Juno Beach Town Council to put my business background to work for the people of Juno and protect what makes our town special.”
In his free time, Dean Anthon is a hobby pilot and enjoys playing the guitar.
